The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has inaugurated Information Communications Centre (ICT) and staff Canteen for the use of members of staff of the ministry and visitors.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Deputy Director of Press and Public Relations of the ministry, Afonja Ajibola, on Friday in Abuja
Inaugurating the facilities, the minister said the canteen would go a long way in enhancing staff productivity at a reasonable cost.
He added that the ICT centre was in line with the Federal Government’s policy of promoting and transiting to e-governance.
Aregbesola commended the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr Shuaib Belgore, and the ministry’s management team for providing the facilities, adding that it will go a long way in enhancing staff performance and effective service delivery.
Earlier, Belgore said the ICT facility would be used as a platform for the training of members of staff on software development and Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS).
The permanent secretary added that the centre would be opened for use to all categories of staff for official assignment.
He also assured that the meal to be provided by the canteen would be decent and at a reasonable cost.
Belgore said the centre would be managed by an officer who would ensure proper usage and maintenance of the facilities. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
