The Spiritual leader of the 9th batch of the 2022 pilgrimage, Rev Peter Mutong, has stressed the need for fervent prayers for national peace and progress of Nigeria.

Mutong, made the call, while addressing Pilgrims on tour at Jacobs River in Jordan.

He said that prayer was key to the sustainable growth of the country, amidst numerous socio-economic, political and security challenges.

He, therefore, urged the pilgrims not to relent in prayers to ensure that things get better for their fatherland in all ramifications.

“We must remain fervent in prayers for the healing of the land, especially our fatherland.

“Fervent and effective prayers will make our leaders to do what is right towards the development of the country.

“As pilgrims and intercessors in Jordan for Nigeria, let us pray for God’s intervention over every ugly situation in the country,’’ he said.

According to him, Nigerians must continue to have faith and trust in God experience turn around in all sectors of the nation’s economy.

Earlier, Mr Romi Abu-Romi, Tour Guide for Nigerians on pilgrimage in Jordan, described the Jacobs river as a place for “turn around”.

According to him, nothing is too much for God to do for people and their nation.

He gave assurance that as the Nigerian Pilgrims stepped in the River with their prayers, it would mark a turn around for them and the nation.

Romi further explained that at the Jacob’s River, Jacob met his brother Esau, for reconciliation and peace after the death of their father.
