Kano anti-graft agency arrests suspect over N2.3bn land scam

The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) says it has arrested one Musa Salihu Ahmed for allegedly selling 632 government occupancy permit for residential plots worth N2.3 billion across the state.
The Chairman of the commission, Mr Muhuyi Magaji, disclosed this to newsmen in Kano on Tuesday.
Magaji said the suspect was picked up at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport shortly after arriving from Saudi Arabia.
He explained that the suspect, using Lamash as a company, sells the plots at about N2.5 million each to individuals in Challawa in Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.
Similarly, he said, the suspect sold assorted plots of residents at Dawanau in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area.
“We are currently investigating the suspect how he was allocated 632 residential plots by the past administration and was allegedly sold to different individuals in the state,” the chairman said.
He said the suspect would be arraigned in a court of law as soon as investigation was completed. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
