One of Ekiti’s foremost lawyers, Mr Tope Adebayo, says time has come for more sober reflection and prayers in Ekiti in view of recent happenings in the state.

Adebayo, made the call in a statement  by one of his media aides, Mr Segun Aina, titled “Gruesome murder of Ekiti traditional rulers, time for sober reflection”.

He said the situation on ground called for all in the state to stick together and rally round each other and the state government.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that two traditional rulers, the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Oba David Ogunsola, and Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Olusola, were killed on Monday.

Five pupils and four accompanying members of staff of their school were also kidnapped and were yet to be rescued as of Thursday afternoon.

While expressing his condolences to Gov. Biodun Oyebanji, the traditional institution and people of the state over the sad occurrences, Adebayo said time has come for all to be each other’s brother’s keeper.

“The news of the occurrences (killing and kidnapping) were sad and devastating and caused unrest among all and sundry in Ekiti.

“Moreover, the kidnapping of five pupils of Apostolic Faith Group of School, Emure-Ekiti, and four staff members is another unethical happening.

“I therefore urge all our security outfits in the state to rescue them without harm,” he said.

Adebayo said it was indeed a time for everyone in the state to support the Gov. Oyebanji-led administration in getting Ekiti secured.

“It is a time to be our brother’s keeper without any hatred. We must come together in prayers in making Ekiti a peaceful place to be without any security fallout.

“I use this medium to call on the good people of Ekiti to support the present administration by giving verifiable information for security forces to get the criminals involved arrested in earnest.

“Ekiti must be a better place to be, he added.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
