Rev. Tom Takpatore, the Senior Pastor, First Baptist Church, Garki, Abuja, has urged everyone not to give up on the younger generation but to continue assisting, encouraging, and setting the right standards for them.
Takpatore stated this on Sunday during the induction service of its two associate pastors for the youth and teenagers church departments.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the inducted pastors are, Rev. Emmanuel Ayanleye who will be in charge of the Ministry of Children and Discipleship while Rev. Taiwo Osho will be the Minister of teenagers and counselling.
Takpatore, while congratulating the pastors for their commitment to Christ and their ministry, noted the importance of not giving up on the younger generation.
He highlighted the crucial role of ministering to children and teenagers in today’s society and encouraged the newly inducted pastors to continue their good work with patience, understanding, and prayer.
“Handling the children is a very crucial ministry and my prayer is that they will continue in the good work they have been doing.
“These pastors are not new in the ministry. They have spent over three years each in these various departments.
“So my prayer for them is that they will keep up the good work and keep working and just doing their best for the Lord.
“Ministering to children, ministering to teenagers requires lots of patience, understanding, lots of prayers, and not only for the children and teenagers, but also for their parents and their guidance,” he said.
The Man of God emphasised the need for teamwork among ministers, teachers, parents, and organisations to support and guide the youth effectively.
“It’s teamwork. No one person can do it all; let us join hands together and train them in setting out the right standard as examples,” he said.
Rev. Daniel Ogundayo, the guest preacher during his sermon, tasked the inducted pastors to serve God faithfully, urging them to live their lives worthy of emulation.
In a sermon titled, “Be a Godly example,” Ogundayo reminded the pastors to see the children as gift provided to support their kingdom ministry.
“I urge you to be a good example to these children. God has provided you both to them as gift to help in nurturing them in the ways of the Lord.
“Be diligent in carrying out God’s command and duties while you focus your mind on God to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory,” he said.
Responding, Rev. Osho thanked the Church for finding them worthy to serve in God’s vineyard, urging the church to continue to pray for them.
Highlight of the Service was a special prayer session for the pastors and their spouses for God’s leadership through the journey they were embarking on. ( NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
