The newly appointed Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF), Mr Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, has expressed commitment to strengthening treasury operations in the country.
Ogunjimi stated this while assuming office on Monday in Abuja.
He described the task ahead as enormous and pledged to do his best to ensure efficiency in the treasury department.
He urged treasury staff to imbibe the spirit of togetherness and cooperation to enhance efficiency.
“I am here to do everything possible to make sure that treasury is at the head of all institutions in Nigeria.
” We cannot be fighting ourselves. We must imbibe the spirit of togetherness and oneness, treasury is one.
“If I fail, every single one of you here has failed. I am ready to commit myself, my life, to the service of this institution,” he said.
Ogunjimi promised to promptly tackle challenges faced by workers at the OAGF in the discharge of their duties.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the outgone AGF, Oluwatoyin Madein, who retired on Friday, was not present at the event. (www.nannews.ng)
