Respect sanctity of marriage, cleric urges couple
By Awayi Kuje
A Christian Cleric in Nasarawa State, Rev. Bitrus Kaya, has advised couples to always respect the institution of marriage to build a happy home and enhance the overall development of the country.
Kaya, in charge of ECWA Goodnews Garaku, made the call while presiding over the wedding between Esther Danladi, daughter of the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr Danladi Jatau and her husband, Josiah Esla at ERCC Mercyland Obi One, Lafia on Saturday.
The cleric urged Christians to always believe in God in order to overcome their challenges.
“Any family without Christ is a family with crisis.
“We have uncontrolled challenges in our families because of absence of God.
“For you to succeed, always invite God into your family at all times,” he said.
He urged the wife to be submissive to her husband, and the husband to be responsible at all times.
The cleric also urged Christians and other Nigerians to live a life worthy of emulation in order to inherit the Kingdom of God.
On his part, Rev. Bainta Anthony, Reverend in Charge of Mercyland Obi One, Lafia, joined Esther and Josiah as husband and wife.
“God knows that Esther and Josiah will be husband and wife.
“The Bible says a man will leave his mother and father and will unite with a woman to become one.
“What God has joined, no man should separate.
“Marriage is not just physical union but union of the heart,” he said.
Dr Danladi Jatau, the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, congratulated his daughter and her husband on their successful marriage.
“I am happy and delighted that today my daughter has gotten married.
“I wish her happy and peaceful married life.
“May the Lord bless their marriage abundantly,” he said. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
