Dr Mary Idele, the newly appointed Secretary of the Women Mobilisation Directorate of the Presidential Campaign Council, has pledged to lead a nationwide grassroots mobilisation of Nigerian women ahead of the 2027 general election.
Idele, who is also the National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made the commitment on Sunday in Abuja while expressing appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for the confidence reposed in her through the appointment.
She described the appointment as a “call to duty” and an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the success of the progressive agenda and the consolidation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
She said she would deploy her experience in grassroots engagement, women empowerment, organisational coordination and political mobilisation to strengthen the participation of women across the country.
Idele pledged to work closely with women leaders, stakeholders and party members to deepen engagement and establish an effective grassroots mobilisation structure ahead of the 2027 polls.
She said the primary responsibility of the Women Mobilisation Directorate was to galvanise Nigerian women and coordinate their efforts toward achieving the objectives of the campaign council.
She said the assignment required unity, dedication and strategic engagement, stressing that women constitute a critical force in Nigeria’s electoral process.
Idele said the directorate would strengthen coordination and participation among women while ensuring that their contributions remained central to the campaign’s activities across the country.
She expressed optimism that collective and sustained mobilisation would support President Tinubu’s progressive and Renewed Hope agenda, pledging to work tirelessly toward a decisive victory in the 2027 presidential election.
She thanked President Tinubu for the confidence placed in her and promised to justify the appointment through loyalty, hard work, strategic mobilisation and effective delivery of the mandate entrusted to her.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
