The Director-General, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Dr Muhammed Bulama, has commended Hajia Hafsat Adedeji for her professionalism, dedication and exemplary service to the corporation as she retired after 32 years in service.
Bulama gave the commendation at a retirement celebration organised in honour of Adedeji, the first female Director of Administration in the history of FRCN.
The Director-General said Adedeji earned her position through merit, diligence and commitment to duty, noting that women in leadership positions within the corporation had continued to distinguish themselves.
“There are many women in positions of authority in FRCN, and I have personally learned a lot from them. They did not get there overnight; they merited it,” he said.
Bulama urged women in authority to remain professional, discharge their duties with honour and credibility, and uphold integrity and character.
Describing the celebrant, he said Adedeji was a consummate professional who served the corporation diligently and would be greatly missed.
“She is very unassuming, compassionate and committed. She has served FRCN extremely well, and although she has retired, she is certainly not tired and still has much to contribute to society,” he said.
Also speaking, the Director of Finance and Accounts, Mr Musa Bako, described Adedeji’s legacy as one anchored on competence, hard work and compassion.
“When you talk about legacy, I will categorise hers into three: competence, hard work and compassion.
“Legacy of competence means doing whatever you are assigned to do very well, and she exemplified this throughout her career,” Bako said.
Earlier, the new Director of Administration, Mrs Caroline Aremu, said the ceremony was organised to honour Adedeji’s outstanding contributions to the corporation, noting that she clocked 60 years on Dec. 29, 2025.
She said Adedeji joined FRCN 32 years ago and rose painstakingly through the ranks to become the first female Director of Administration in the annals of the corporation, which she described as the largest radio network in Africa.
“She is an astute administrator who is fair, firm, compassionate and disciplined. She held the directorate together with wisdom and professional competence,” she said.
Caroline commended members of staff across departments and zones for their financial and moral support toward the success of the event, despite prevailing economic challenges.
Responding, the celebrant, Mrs Adedeji, expressed gratitude to management and staff of the corporation for the honour accorded her.
“I am overwhelmed by the show of love and support. I had a fulfilling working career, and I pray that smiles will never depart from your homes,” she said.
She prayed for promotion, elevation and prosperity for staff of the corporation, adding that she would always remain part of the FRCN family even after her exit from service. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
