The Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, has emphasised responsibility, service and integrity as key qualities of young leaders.
Agoro laid the emphasis during a courtesy visit to him by Miss Esther Etiyemonu, the One-Day Governor of Lagos State, and her team members, on Monday at Alausa, Ikeja.
Agoro congratulated Etiyemonu and her team members on the achievement.
He described the One-Day Governor of Lagos State initiative as a platform to expose young people to governance, leadership and public service, inspiring them to strive for excellence and civic engagement.
“The one-day governor initiative is designed to give young people a taste of governance and leadership, and I am impressed by your diligence, intelligence and responsibility,” he said.
Agoro urged the team to see the achievement as a stepping stone for future leadership roles, and to embody the values of responsibility, service and integrity.
The head of service congratulated Etiyemonu for winning the 21st Lagos State Spelling Bee Competition which earned her the title.
He attributed the success to her discipline, dedication and perseverance.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the team includes Miss Dorcas Awoyemi as Deputy Governor and Miss Olaide Salami as Secretary to the State Government.
Etiyemonu won the 21st Lagos State Spelling Bee Competition (Secondary School Category) which was concluded in December 2025.
As the winner of the prestigious competition, she earned the title of the One-Day Governor of Lagos State.
She is a student of Lagos State Senior Model College, Igbokuta in the Imota Local Council Development Area of the state. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
