The Media and Civil Society Group for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has described Prof.`Isha’q Oloyede’s tenure as outgoing Registrar as “outstanding and extraordinary.”

The group’s representative, Dr Akinreti Qasim, stated this when he presented an award of appreciation to the Registrar and the Head of Media, Dr Fabian Benjamin, for their hard work.

According to Qasim, the JAMB Registrar has demonstrated great capacity in uplifting the board and ensuring successful educational processes in spite of the challenges that came with the job.

“It is quite extraordinary what he has done for Nigerian society. He raised the bar of integrity, success, and incorruptibility.

“He is one of the few Nigerians who are willing and ready to do what is good at all times, irrespective of the challenges that may occur,” he said.

According to him, it is important to appreciate good people who have worked hard and to acknowledge their efforts.

Qasim, while wishing the Registrar good health, also prayed that his antecedents would go before him to secure more and greater appointment opportunities.

In his response, Oloyede thanked the group for the gesture and solicited support for his successor.

He added that the media had played a vital role in taking the board to greater heights.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that, Oloyede, whose second tenure expires on July 31, is expected to hand over the affairs of the board to Prof. Segun Aina. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
