Wisewisdom Charity Foundation has distributed school bags and other learning materials to 100 pupils of the Local Education Authority (LEA) Primary School, City Gate, Durumi II, Abuja.
The items were distributed on Thursday, during an outreach tagged, “Building Tomorrow Today: One Bag, One Child”.
The convenner, Dr Peter Olumuji, said at the event that the gesture was designed to equip less privileged children with basic academic tools to boost their confidence and reduce educational inequality within FCT.
Olumuji, who attended the event along with members of the foundation’s Board of Trustees, explained that equipping young minds directly transforms lives and instills a sense of belonging.
He pointed out that the initiative directly aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 4 (quality education); 10 (reduced inequalities); and 17 (partnerships for the goals).
“Distributions of essential learning materials like this remain one of the most effective ways to support underserved communities and nurture future leaders,” he said.
Also speaking, Dr Jumai Ahmadu, Director, Department of Reforms Coordination and Service Improvement, FCT Administration, noted the urgency of supporting children from low-income backgrounds.
This, according to her, will ensure that no child is left behind in accessing quality basic education.
Similarly, Mrs Ukachi Adebayo, Head of Enforcement, FCT Social Development Secretariat, commended the foundation’s direct community impact and pledged continued support.
Responding, Head Mistress of the school, Mrs Helen Adejare, expressed gratitude for the donated materials and urged other well-meaning Nigerians and corporate entities to emulate the gesture. (NAN)
