Mr Segun Tomori, an All Progressives Congress (APC) member in Lagos State, has congratulated the newly appointed Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mr Abel Enitan.
Tomori, who aspired for the Oshodi-Isolo II Federal Constituency candidacy of the APC during the party’s primary ahead of the 2027 polls, congratulated Enitan in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that President Bola Tinubu has appointed Enitan as the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, effective Aug. 27, 2026.
Tinubu announced the appointment on Wednesday in Abuja in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
Enitan will succeed Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, on her impending retirement from the Federal Civil Service upon attaining the statutory retirement age of 60.
Tomori described the incoming head of service as a humble, unassuming and highly focused professional.
“President Tinubu has once again demonstrated his ability to identify, headhunt and deploy exceptional talents in the service of the nation,” he said.
Tomori said he did not doubt that Enitan, in his new capacity, would deepen ongoing civil service reforms, strengthen efficiency and enhance professionalism across the public service.
He said that the appointee would also support the president in accelerating the implementation of key priorities of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Tomori wished him success as he assumes the responsibility and prayed that his tenure would be marked by impactful reforms and enduring contributions to the Nigerian civil service.
NAN reports that Enitan, from Osun State, is the most senior Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.
He has served as Permanent Secretary for seven years and seven months, working at the Ministry of Police Affairs, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, and the Office of the Vice President.
He is currently the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng )
