The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has commiserated with President Bola Tinubu, the Armed Forces and families of victims of the Ondo plane crash.
Chief Emeka Obegolu, ACCI President, expressed deep sorrow over the crash in Igbokoda, Ondo, in a condolence message issued on Tuesday in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crashed on Monday near the naval base area in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area on Ondo State.
Obegolu described the incident, which claimed the lives of military personnel, family members and crew, as a painful loss to the nation.
He conveyed his condolences to Tinubu, the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Naval Staff over the tragedy.
He also commiserated with the Nigerian Armed Forces, bereaved families and Nigerians over the unfortunate incident.
The ACCI president said the deaths of military personnel and their family members had further deepened the grief surrounding the tragedy.
He extended heartfelt condolences to families who lost loved ones, particularly relatives of the affected military personnel.
Obegolu prayed that God would grant the bereaved families strength and fortitude to bear their irreparable loss.
He also commended relevant authorities and emergency responders for their efforts following the incident.
The ACCI president called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash to establish its cause.
He said the investigation should also help prevent similar incidents from recurring in the future.
Obegolu urged Nigerians to keep the bereaved families, Armed Forces and the nation in their prayers during the difficult period.
He said the loss was a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by Nigeria’s security forces and their families in service to the nation. (NAN)
