The Anglican Bishop of Nike Diocese in Enugu State, Rt. Rev. Christian Onyia, has urged Nigerians to resist the temptation of mischief-makers dividing them along ethnic and religious lines for selfish interests.
In his Easter Message, Onyia charged Nigerians to โbury hate and build bridges.โ
โJesus said, a house divided against itself cannot standโ (Mark 3:25). Let us pursue truth, justice and love,โ he said.
The cleric called on Nigerian leaders to embrace accountable, responsive, and capable leadership.
Onyia said that restoration of the nationโs glory and path of socioeconomic progress were highly possible but only through God.
โWe can still rise. We can still build. But not by might or power, only by the Spirit of God. Godโs plans for Nigeria and the nations are still good, but we must return to Him in truth and humility.
โChrist conquered sin, death, and the grave, offering salvation and restoration to all who believe; His resurrection assures us that no situation is beyond Godโs power to redeem,โ he said.
The bishop called for repentance and Nigerians turning to seek Godโs face. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
