Dr Johnson Anene, the Convener of the 8th Real Estate and Construction Expo (RECON Expo 2026), says the expo will explore investment opportunities in Nigeria’s real estate and construction sectors.

This is contained in a statement by Mrs Olayemi John-Mensah, Media and Strategy Officer, Abuja Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) on Monday in Abuja.

Afrinet Group and Shelter Aid Organisation organised the expo, themed “Exploring Opportunities in the Real Estate Sector for Economic Development.”

Anene said the expo would promote the built environment’s contribution to national economic development.

According to him, the participants would explore innovative solutions to challenges affecting the real estate and construction sectors.

He said that the expo would bring together real estate developers, investors, manufacturers, construction professionals, policymakers and other stakeholders.

According to him, it is designed to provide a platform for industry players to showcase products, exchange knowledge and establish strategic partnerships.

“The expo will feature exhibitions, conference sessions, product presentations, business-to-business and business-to-government engagements, networking opportunities and training,” he said.

The convener, also Chairman, Abuja Trade Centre, ACCI, noted that the participants would explore innovative solutions to challenges affecting the real estate and construction sectors.

“The participation will be free, providing professionals, entrepreneurs, investors and prospective property owners with opportunities to connect with industry players.

“The expected participants include engineers, builders, architects, estate surveyors and valuers, quantity surveyors, financial institutions and construction companies.

“Others are building materials suppliers, manufacturers, government representatives and other stakeholders across the built environment,” he said.

Anene said that the exhibitions would showcase housing and building materials, smart homes, automation, renewable energy and environmentally friendly construction solutions.

He noted that other areas include mortgage financing, furniture, interior decoration, infrastructure developments and cost-effective building technologies.

The convener said that the expo is expected to facilitate market access, investment partnerships and access to information on property acquisition and mortgage financing.

He said the participants would gain insights into government incentives and emerging trends in the real estate industry.

According to him, the event will also enable businesses to increase visibility, reach prospective customers and establish commercial relationships.

“The conference will promote dialogue, innovation and collaboration towards addressing housing and infrastructure needs while encouraging sustainable development,” he said.

Anene said the annual conference was designed to harness real estate and construction opportunities for investment, employment generation and economic growth.

He said the expo was expected to strengthen partnerships and investment opportunities while highlighting the role of the built environment in Nigeria’s economic development. (NAN)
