The Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation has disowned online documents on the 100,000-hectare Multi-Crop Project, saying they are unauthorised and misleading.
The ministry said this in a public disclaimer issued by its Office of the Permanent Secretary and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.
It said the documents, attributed to CARECOM COMFAS and the RBDA National Agricultural Intervention Programme, did not emanate from the ministry.
The documents include a contractor registration form for input suppliers, an implementation and field operations infographic, and a river basin development authorities and multi-crop project alignment map.
The ministry urged the public, stakeholders and partners to disregard the documents and avoid relying on them for official purposes.
It said official information on its activities and programmes was released only through established communication channels and duly signed documents.
The ministry warned that circulating false documents violated Nigerian law and that appropriate legal action would be taken against those found culpable.
It advised the public to seek verification or clarification through its official communication platforms. (NAN)
