An African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential aspirant, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, has unveiled plans for national job creation programme and economic renewal.

Hayatu-Deen disclosed the plan during a town hall organised by Team Rebuild Nigeria in Abuja on Friday, where he pledged to prioritise employment and economic recovery.

He said jobs must become the centrepiece of Nigeria’s national policy, stressing that economic revival depends on sustainable employment opportunities and productive national engagement.

The renowned economist said worsening economic conditions and insecurity required experienced leadership focused on restoring productivity, rebuilding confidence and creating opportunities for millions of Nigerians.

Addressing party stakeholders, professionals, youth groups, supporters and community leaders, Hayatu-Deen said sustainable national stability could not be achieved without large-scale job creation efforts.

“Jobs change lives. Jobs reduce poverty. Jobs put food on the tables of Nigerian families. Jobs give young people hope and dignity.

“Countries that create jobs in a large scale build stronger economies and more stable societies. Countries failing to create opportunities become trapped in insecurity and social unrest,” he said.

Hayatu-Deen outlined plans for a National Jobs Programme focusing on public works schemes, tax incentives for employers and targetted interventions to stimulate productivity.

The presidential aspirant said his experience in managing over 145 companies across 19 northern states through the New Nigeria Development Company had prepared him for leadership responsibilities.

He also said that his decades of experience in business, banking and institutional reform had consistently been guided by expanding opportunities for ordinary Nigerians across the country.

According to him, Nigeria’s economic crisis is directly affecting families struggling with rising food prices, inflation, unemployment and worsening insecurity across many communities.

“For millions of Nigerians, surviving the month has become more important than planning for the future.

“Nigerians do not just need statistics and speeches. They need real jobs in real communities, paying real wages that improve living conditions,” he added.

The presidential aspirant linked economic decline to insecurity, arguing that unemployment and hopelessness had continued to fuel criminality and violent extremism across different parts of the country.

He pledged that if elected, his administration would combine stronger security enforcement measures with aggressive economic expansion policies and sustainable nationwide job creation programmes for citizens.

Hayatu-Deen reaffirmed his commitment to building ADC into a national political force capable of winning the 2027 general elections.

He said Nigerians were demanding leadership built on ideas, discipline, competence and measurable results rather than old politics.

“Nigeria cannot continue on this path,” he said, adding: “This moment must focus on solutions for Nigerians, not endless political calculations and partisan interests.”

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the town hall witnessed expression of support by party stakeholders, including members of the FCT ADC State Working Committee, who endorsed Hayatu-Deen’s presidential aspiration.

The stakeholders commended the presidential aspirant’s focus on competence, economic recovery and national unity, describing his agenda as capable of repositioning Nigeria for sustainable development.

The Convener of Team Rebuild Nigeria, Dr Ebekuo Ebekuo, described Hayatu-Deen as a credible alternative capable of repositioning Nigeria’s economy and restoring public confidence in governance.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
