Rep. Terseer Ugbor, Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Environment, has been conferred with the prestigious 2025 Industry Enabler Award by the Recyclers Association of Nigeria (RAN).

The award was presented during the 2026 Annual Recyclers Conference & Awards (ARC26), held at the MUSON Centre in Lagos.

Ugbor made this known while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Saturday.

NAN reports that the award was conferred on Ugbor for his outstanding personal leadership and unwavering commitment, which have significantly contributed to the growth and development of the recycling sector in Nigeria.

He said that his efforts in promoting sustainable environmental practices and supporting policies that encourage recycling have positioned him as a key enabler in the industry.

“The recognition highlights the increasing importance of leadership, collaboration, and innovation in driving Nigeria’s transition towards a circular economy and a cleaner environment,” he promised.

NAN reports that Ugbor’s proposed EPR legislation aims to make businesses responsible for the full lifecycle of their products, enhancing waste management practices.

He has been involved in launching waste management initiatives, including waste battery receptacles, to address hazardous waste.

He pledged to do more to protect the environment.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
