A man, Fayode Adejumo, was on Monday docked before Justice Uche Agomoh of the Federal High Court Ibadan, for allegedly trafficking 2.7g of “Colorado” (a potent synthetic cannabinoid) within the premises of Agodi correctional centre.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Oyo State Command charged Adejumo with trafficking illicit substances.
Adejumo pleaded guilty to the one-count amended charge when it was read to him.
Consequently, Justice Agomoh ordered Adejumo to be remanded in Agodi correctional facility and adjourned the suit until May 25 for facts and sentencing.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr D.O. Otunla told the court that the defendant committed the crime on Feb. 25, in the premises of Agodi correctional centre, Agodi, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Otunla further said that the NDLEA operatives arrested Adejumo in possession of a bag containing 2.7g of ”Colorado”.
According to him, the offence contravenes the provisions of section 11(C ) of the NDLEA Act n30 law of the federation 2004. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
