NDC commandant expresses confidence Nigeria ‘ll overcome its security challenges

Rear Adm. Abdullahi Ahmed, the Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC), has expressed confidence that Nigeria can overcome its security challenges through trust in God.

The Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC), Rear Adm. Abdullahi Ahmed, says with trust in God, Nigeria can overcome security challenges bedeviling the nation.

Ahmed said this on Friday in Abuja, at the Special Juma’at Prayer commencing activities for the college’s graduating course – 34 participants.

He emphasised the need for Nigerians and the graduating course -34 participants to have faith and trust God to overcome the insecurities in the country.

According to him, nothing can be done without the permission of God; though weapons, training and tactics are critical to winning wars, prayers are just as important.

“If you look at the army card, you will see ‘Victory is from God alone’, that shows you how important faith is to warfare.

“I believe that it is through divine intervention and through our prayers that we will be able to overcome this crisis.”

The commandant, during his special lecture, tasked the graduating participants to live exemplary lives in their places of service after leaving the college.

He urged them to follow the example of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) by being prayerful, hardworking, committed, humble and to serve as role models.

The college Imam, Sqn. Ldr. Ibrahim Muhammad said that the best way to overcome the insecurities facing the country was to implement and follow the guidance of Allah and his messenger.

Muhammad urged citizens to have faith in Allah and his destiny for all, noting that prayer was just as important as government policy formulation, Implementation, policing and every other aspect of national security.(NAN)
