The Akinjide Adeosun Foundation (AAF) has underscored the need for sustained interventions in zero hunger, good health and well-being, and quality education in Nigeria.
The Founder and Chairman of the AAF, Mr Akinjide Adeosun, made the remark on Tuesday in Lagos ahead of the foundation’s decade of leadership building and to unveil its 2026 initiatives.
Adeosun, a Pharmacist, said Nigeria’s development required deliberate efforts to address hunger, healthcare access and education gaps.
“NIGERIA needs interventions focused on zero hunger, good health and well-being, and quality education. The AAF has aligned its programmes with these priorities over the past decade.
“The Akinjide Adeosun Foundation was incorporated in 2015 with the vision to build a pipeline of ready leaders by 2035. Ten (10) years on, I am delighted to regale with pride our achievements.
“We have changed beliefs (The Unseen) – Excellence; Integrity & Empathy of several persons through the execution of good BEHAVIOURS (The Seen) of leaders in intervention areas of Zero Hunger (SDG 2); Good Health & Well Being (SDG 3) and Quality Education (SDG 4) .
“Thousands have benefited from our programmes of Food Bank; Free Health Mission & Education (Training). We have given Awards (including Posthumous) to showcase good Leadership values at the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Levels of our Interventions.”
Adeosun said that the foundation had positively touched lives of multitude of Nigerians
According to him, in furtherance of the foundation vision, AAF announces 2026 plan of actions to celebrate the decade of legacy of building leaders in Nigeria.
Adeosun said that the AAF’s flagship annual colloquium & awards ceremony would hold on April 25 in Lagos with the theme: “Trust Surplus: An Imperative to Building a Wealthy Sovereign Nation.
According to him, facilitators will speak at the colloquium from the prism of Defence & Security; Technology; Health; Church & Home.
He said that to celebrate the 10 years of service, awards would be given to eminent persons and corporate organisations.
He said that the foundation’s initiatives were designed to build leadership capacity alongside social impact.
Adeosun said the foundation would continue to expand programmes addressing hunger, healthcare and education challenges.
He said that such programmes including Food Bank, launched in 2025 targeting cleaners and security personnel, shall continue in 2026.
“Health Mission targeting poor patients has been successfully executed and shall continue in 2026,” he added.
He said the education fair would also be sustained to guide young Nigerians.
“Education Fair is a career moulding initiative targeting Senior Secondary School pupils for coaching and mentoring,” he said.
Adeosun announced a new initiative to support learning through energy access.
“Cleaner Energy will provide basic solar energy for households without electricity, enabling indigent students to study at home,” he said.
He reiterated that the foundation’s long-term goal was leadership development for national growth.
“Our 10- year journey has metamorphosed into a pipeline of ready now and ready later developed young global leaders,” he said.
Adeosun called on stakeholders to support interventions that address critical social needs.
“We call on corporates and like-minded NGOs to collaborate with us for greater reach and fulfilment of our objectives,” he said. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
