Some Nigerians based in the UK, U.S. and Canada will hold a summit with the Reach out Africa Charity Initiative (ROACI), a Non -Governmental Organisation (NGO), with a view to addressing pressing societal needs.
Affi Tubby, Chief Executive Officer, Phatbird Limited, a UK -based Fashion/entrepreneurial hub, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja.
Tubby, who is also a social worker in the UK, said that the โUnite for Change Summitโ set to hold in Lagos and Abuja, would serve as a bridge to continents and unite global influencers to address pressing societal issues in Nigeria.
The event tagged โEmpowering Nigeriaโs Future through Services, Health, and Resilience Summit 2024โ will hold in Lagos and Abuja from March 22 to March 24
โFrom child protection advocacy to fitness and nutrition, the summit will empower individuals with invaluable knowledge and skills.
โOur strategic approach focuses on holistic empowerment through education, skill acquisition, and community engagement,โโ she said.
On her part, Atim Tolbert, a U.S. based child protection advocate, said she would be sharing global insights for child protection that could catalyse positive impact through proactive intervention and advocacy.
According to Tolbert, advocating for childrenโs rights, developing personalised treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions in crisis management are her core areas.
โWhat stands out for me is my passion for promoting mental health awareness, and empowering individuals on their journey toward emotional well-being.
โWith proactive collaborations across related sectors including governmental agencies, corporate entities, and Internal based NGOs, we will collectively achieve impactful changes in the lives of those facing mental health challenges,โโ she said.
More so, Princess Nkoyo, Chief Executive Officer, ROACI, said the partnership would have lasting social impacts, bring about empowerment for everyone in every strata and promote social transformation.
She called on all community-based Organisations, national and international agencies across sectors to come together to make it a huge success.
