Former Chief of Staff to former Imo Governor, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, has commended the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Prof. Nnenna Oti, for her transformative leadership and contributions to the institution’s growth.
Nwosu gave the commendation while hosting Oti in Abuja on Saturday, saying her tenure repositioned the university for greater academic excellence and institutional development.
He said Oti’s visionary leadership, commitment to excellence and dedication to duty had left an enduring legacy that continued to attract commendation from stakeholders within and outside the academic community.
According to him, her administration recorded major milestones that strengthened the university’s reputation and placed it on a path of sustained growth.
Nwosu said her tenure was marked by innovation, purposeful leadership and transformational reforms.
He added that Oti’s achievements had become a source of inspiration to women in leadership and the academic community, demonstrating the value of integrity, competence and service-driven governance in higher education.
“Her leadership, vision and dedication have left a lasting impact on the university community. I applaud her for the remarkable transformation witnessed at FUTO under her watch,” he said.
Nwosu expressed confidence that the former vice-chancellor would continue to contribute to national development and the advancement of education through future public service.
He wished her continued success in her future endeavours and expressed hope that her experience and expertise would continue to benefit society.
Responding, Oti thanked Nwosu for recognising her contributions to the university.
She said the achievements recorded during her tenure were made possible through teamwork, dedication and the collective support of members of the university community.
Oti pledged to continue supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening education and promoting national development. (NAN)
