Humanitarian, Sir Godfrey Ohuabunwa, has urged Nigerians facing difficult circumstances to remain hopeful, prayerful and steadfast.
Ohuabunwa made the call during the Feeding the Needy Programme organised by Help Without Boundaries Initiative in collaboration with Morning Flight 97.7 FM.
The outreach was held at Okrika National Secondary School, Okrika, Rivers, for elderly people, children and other vulnerable members of the community.
In a statement on Monday, he urged participants not to abandon hope when confronted with difficult circumstances, stressing that situations could change through faith and perseverance.
Quoting Jeremiah 32:27, Ohuabunwa reminded the participants that nothing was too difficult for God and encouraged them to continue praying.
He also advised parents not to give up on children who had gone astray, saying persistent prayer, guidance and love could help them return to the right path.
Ohuabunwa cited the biblical account of Hannah as an example of the power of persistent prayer, noting that her faith eventually brought an answer to her long-standing challenge.
He also referred to the feeding of the five thousand by Jesus Christ, saying the account demonstrated God’s ability to provide for people in need.
The humanitarian urged individuals to make a difference in the lives of others by extending support and compassion to vulnerable members of society.
The programme also featured a salvation message from John 3:16, with participants encouraged to embrace the Christian faith and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Several participants responded to the altar call and gave their lives to Christ.
Earlier, the programme featured prayers, praise and worship, as well as testimonies from members of the Morning Flight family on God’s faithfulness in their lives.
The Feeding the Needy Programme provided food and other support to vulnerable residents, particularly elderly people, children and others in need.
The initiative seeks to combine humanitarian assistance with compassion, community support and encouragement for vulnerable people.
The outreach also emphasised the importance of restoring hope and strengthening community bonds alongside meeting the material needs of vulnerable people.
The programme ended with renewed calls for faith, compassion and service to humanity. (NAN)
