An online community, the Nigerian Teachers Community (NTC) has inaugurated a digital platform in Lagos to enable teachers earn sustainable income, attain financial freedom and remain committed to the education sector.

Dr. Peter Ogudoro, the Leader of the community, in a statement issued on Sunday in Lagos, said the initiative was designed to discourage teachers from leaving the profession for better-paying industries.

“The project was motivated by the need to arrest the exodus of teachers into other professions, which may sabotage the Renewed Hope Agenda, if not urgently addressed,” Ogudoro said.

He explained that the platform was developed in collaboration with local and international partners, including Hallos, a creator-focused, live-learning platform.

According to him, the idea is to support teachers in hosting and monetising live classes and digital educational services.

The community leader added that the initiative would provide parents, children and young persons within and outside Nigeria access to competent teachers capable of enhancing academic excellence and global competitiveness.

“The platform will connect learners globally with competent teachers while creating opportunities for educators to monetise their expertise and contribute meaningfully to national development,” he said.

Ogudoro noted that stakeholders at the event described the initiative as timely, expressing confidence that improved earnings and opportunities would encourage talented individuals to embrace teaching as a rewarding profession.

He stated that the Chief Executive Officer of Hallos, Alexander Oseji, commended the collaboration, saying it would accelerate educational and national development across Nigeria.

“We are delighted to collaborate with Nigerian teachers on this innovative contribution aimed at accelerating development and transforming education through technology-driven opportunities,” Oseji was quoted as saying. (NAN)(www nannews.ng)
