Abuja, Oct. 17, 2026 (NAN) Gov. Alex Otti of Abia has mourned Princess Margret Ezeh, describing her as a woman whose exemplary character, devotion to God and contributions to humanity would remain unforgettable.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ezeh died on July 24, 2026, at the age of 60.

The governor conveyed his condolences in a letter addressed to Mr Chuks Akamadu, the State Secretary of the Labour Party in Abia, a copy of which was made available to NAN in Abuja on Saturday.

In the letter titled “Transition of Princess (Deaconess) Margret Eyoanwan Ezeh, JP,” Otti paid tribute to the deceased’s remarkable life, Christian faith and positive influence on those around her.

The governor described Ezeh, who was Akamadu’s mother-in-law, as a devoted wife, a loving and caring mother to her children and grandchildren, and a woman of substance.

He noted that her unwavering commitment to God and dedication to the work of the Lord earned her the love, respect and admiration of many people.

Otti said the deceased’s virtues of charity, humility and strength of character had left a lasting legacy that would continue to inspire those who knew her.

“Her death has created a huge vacuum in the family and in the hearts of all who benefited from her generosity,” the governor said.

He acknowledged the profound pain associated with losing a loved one but encouraged the bereaved family to find comfort in the meaningful life Ezeh lived and her selfless service to her generation.

The governor urged the family to remember her enduring contributions to their lives and draw strength from the positive memories and values she left behind.

Otti also expressed hope that the Christian belief in resurrection and the promise of reunion in eternity would provide the family with comfort and reassurance during the difficult period.

“On behalf of my family, friends, members and supporters of the Labour Party, the Government and good people of Abia State, I commiserate with you and the entire family on this irreparable loss,” he said.

The governor prayed that God would grant the bereaved family the strength and courage to endure the loss, while asking for divine mercy and eternal rest for the deceased.

“May God grant her gentle soul eternal rest,” Otti added, expressing his sympathy with the family and all those affected by the passing of the respected matriarch.(NAN) www.nannews.ng
