The Nigeria Police Force Pensions Ltd. has unveiled a WhatsApp Business platform to improve pension services and strengthen engagement with police personnel and retirees nationwide.
Speaking at the inauguration in Abuja on Wednesday, Acting Managing Director, Mr Muhammad Dutse, described the application as user-friendly and accessible.

He said the platform would provide seamless access to pension information and support services without requiring visits to pension offices.
Dutse said feedback from early users showed the platform had simplified access to pension-related information and enabled remote resolution of complaints.
He described the initiative as part of efforts to address retirees’ concerns and enhance service delivery through digital innovation.
According to him, rising transportation costs have made digital channels essential for delivering efficient services to clients across the country.
Dutse noted that police personnel and retirees are spread nationwide, making physical service delivery challenging in spite of the organisation’s efforts.
He said the platform would allow clients to access information conveniently through their mobile devices at any time.
The acting managing director disclosed that about 30,000 police personnel had enrolled on the platform before its official launch.
He expressed optimism that enrolment would rise significantly with support from the media and other stakeholders.
“Our goal is to enrol all police personnel nationwide within the next two to three months,” he said.
Dutse added that the platform would continue to evolve through user feedback and ongoing service improvements.
According to him, clients can check their Retirement Savings Account balances, download statements and access fund performance information instantly.
He said users could also view daily unit prices and update personal records, subject to data protection regulations.
The acting managing director said the platform was protected by robust security architecture designed to prevent unauthorised access and cyber threats.
He added that adequate resources had been budgeted to ensure uninterrupted operation and regular subscription renewals.
Dutse said pension benefits depended largely on salary levels and contribution rates.
He noted that ongoing pension reforms were aimed at improving retirement benefits for police personnel and other public servants.
According to him, a proposal before the Federal Government seeks to increase employer contributions for police officers from 10 per cent to 20 per cent.
Dutse said the measure would strengthen retirement savings and improve pension outcomes in the years ahead.
He added that alternative channels, including USSD services and periodic pension statements, would cater to personnel without smartphones.
Dutse reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to leveraging technology to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
