NW Plus TV Launches to Reclaim African Hearts Through Storytelling
In an event set to reignite and elevate the role of African storytellers in shaping the global
narrative on authentic African stories, Nifty Works Plus Limited officially launched its new
platform, NW Plus TV (NW+ TV).

The highly anticipated gathering was held on May 2, 2025, at Unseen Nairobi, located in the
cosmopolitan neighbourhood of Hurlingham, Nairobi, Kenya. The vibrant city, known as a
gateway for popular tourist attractions in the region and attracting a diverse crowd,
transformed into the perfect backdrop for cultural aesthetes and enthusiasts. They gathered
for an evening of celebration, marking the unveiling of a bold new chapter in African
entertainment – an African-centric streaming platform focused on authenticity, family values,
and faith-driven content.

NW Plus TV, a video-on-demand platform, promises to be a hub for those seeking to
reconnect with Africa’s rich storytelling heritage. Offering a curated catalogue that spans
documentaries, movies, podcasts, and children’s programming, NW Plus TV delivers gripping
entertainment through locally rooted content. Viewers can enjoy standout titles like
‘Ndemwa’, a children’s show that bridges generational gaps with educational value, and
‘Moments with Nderru’, a motivational podcast designed for faith-driven audiences aspiring
to reach their highest potential. Not to mention cinematic features like ‘Bedroom Chains’, a
Ugandan feature film set in 1980, where the protagonist, Natalia, returns from exile only to
confront the brutal treatment of women, stirring painful memories of her past.

The streaming service aims to make a significant impact not only in the Kenyan media
landscape but across the continent and its diaspora – in 2025 and beyond. Nifty Works Plus
Limited, the creative powerhouse behind NW Plus TV, is an award-winning creative agency
with a decade-long legacy of shaping the visual storytelling of Africa. Their evolution into
NW Plus TV was a natural next step, a “petri dish” to nurture and spotlight Africa’s
burgeoning film industry and local talent. Co-founder Muthoni Waigwa reflects, sharing that
their journey into entrepreneurship was inspired by their enterprising, pioneering mother –
and that reaching a decade in business called for a new challenge, resulting in the birth of
NW Plus TV.

Attendees at the premiere of NW Plus TV were treated to exclusive content screenings,
interactions and intimate sessions with the creators, and the shared excitement of a new
movement dedicated to storytelling, community, and creativity. Esther Neema, who was
amongst those who attended expressed, “NW Plus TV really presents a great opportunity for
us creatives to actually earn, and an opportunity to compete with even more advanced films
from the west. This is what we have been waiting for as Africans to grow our industries and
fill the earth with content straight out of Africa.”
The event made it clear that NW Plus TV is committed to promoting and preserving Africa’s
rich cultural heritage and visual storytelling traditions. Co-founder Nyatetu Kiragu
emphasised, “We are sharing stories from a different lens, building a community of creatives
from across the continent – all united by the cause to reclaim the African narrative that has
often been lost in translation.”
With NW Plus TV, the future of African storytelling looks bold, stimulating and unshakably
authentic.
