Mr Bruce Tanner, Chief Financial Officer, Dangote Group, has called for increased awareness of Nigerian products and stronger intra-African trade.
Tanner, also an exhibitor made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), at the African Nexus (CANEX WKND 2026), on Saturday in Lagos.
He said increased awareness of Nigerian products would help expand their visibility and acceptance in international markets.
According to him, the CANEX will generate greater global awareness of Africa’s creative industries and business opportunities.
“The event will as well promote Nigerian products, strengthen trade and business opportunities across Africa.
“Also, improved movement of goods across Africa will promote business opportunities and promote regional trade.
“The exhibition provides an opportunity to showcase available products and highlight the creative potential of African businesses,” he told NAN.
Tanner described Nigeria as a vibrant country with a rich and flamboyant culture deserving greater international recognition.
According to him, the exhibition offers an important platform for displaying what Nigeria and other African countries can produce.
He said one of his major expectations was an improvement in trade flows among African countries.
The exhibitor stressed the need to strengthen intra-African trade to enable businesses to access wider markets across the continent.
He noted that improved movement of goods would make commercial activities easier for businesses operating in different African countries.
He said facilitating the movement of products, fashion items and other goods would improve the overall trading process.
He explained that easier transportation and distribution would help businesses move their products across African markets more efficiently.
According to him, such improvements would create better opportunities for businesses to expand their operations beyond their domestic markets.
He added that increased trade would also encourage business partnerships and stimulate economic activities among African countries.
Tanners expressed hope that participants and visitors would take advantage of the exhibition to explore business opportunities and establish useful connections.
He urged greater efforts to promote African products internationally, saying stronger awareness and improved trade flows would benefit businesses across the continent. (NAN)www.nannews.ng
