Sage Grey, a financial advisory firm, says Nigeria’s large and growing population offers significant opportunities for investment and economic growth.

Mr Temitope Runsewe, Managing Director, Sage Grey, said this on Thursday in Lagos at the company’s 10th anniversary celebration.

Runsewe said Nigeria’s demographic advantage was among factors underpinning the country’s long-term economic potential.

He said government reforms and growing international interest were creating opportunities across mining, oil and gas, infrastructure, manufacturing and technology.

According to him, the opportunities provided platforms for businesses and financial institutions to support economic growth.

He said such institutions could provide capital, structure transactions and develop solutions capable of unlocking investment across sectors.

Runsewe said Sage Grey was positioning itself to play a greater role in supporting Nigeria’s economic development.

“Sage Grey is excited about the future and confident about the role it can play in contributing to Nigeria’s economic development,” he said.

He said the company’s next phase would focus on consolidating its foundation, strengthening its businesses and deepening its capabilities.

Runsewe said Sage Grey would also expand strategic partnerships and create greater value for the markets and communities it serves.

He said the company planned to transition into a commercial bank by 2027 as part of its growth strategy.

Runsewe also announced plans to pursue a listing on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX).

He said the plans reflected the company’s ambition to scale its businesses and create long-term value.

Runsewe said Sage Grey had evolved from a three-person advisory business established in 2016 into a diversified group.

He said the group now had interests in financial services, investment and technology.

According to him, the company’s growth occurred amid currency devaluation, the COVID-19 pandemic, government changes and regulatory shifts.

He said Sage Grey remained focused on developing its people, capabilities, structures, processes, partnerships and relationships.

Runsewe said the company would consolidate, optimise and scale the platforms and capabilities developed during its first decade.

He identified becoming an impact financing institution as another key objective for Sage Grey.

“Another key objective is to become Nigeria’s leading impact financing institution while strengthening its social impact programmes,” he said.

Runsewe said the programmes would focus on education, entrepreneurship and communities.

He commended Sage Grey’s clients, partners, staff and other stakeholders for contributing to the company’s growth over the past decade.

He said their support had been instrumental to its journey and would remain important as the company entered its next phase. (NAN)
