Gov. Peter Mbah of Enugu State has commended the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for organising a seamless screening for its governorship aspirants.
He gave the commendation after being screened by the party’s governorship screening committee in Abuja on Friday.
According to him, the exercise defined APC as model of organised party.
The governor urged the opposition parties to borrow a leaf from what the APC was doing.
“The process was seamless and smooth. It shows how structured and well-organised our party is. What we pledged during the screening process was to uphold the values of our party.
“We also promised to ensure that we take the message of what this party and this government is doing across the nooks and crannies of the country.
“The screening underscores how structured the APC is, and perhaps this is a party defining the model of party organisation on the continent.
“We hope other political parties will borrow a leaf from what we are doing,” the governor said.
Speaking on the mode of primary he would prefer, Mbah said the value of unity would be maintained in the state always while considering the mode of primary to adopt.
“In Enugu, we have always done things as brothers, we understand the value and significance of unity, and that is what we will continue to uphold,” he said.
Meanwhile, the party has fixed Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10, for screening of aspirants for the Senate at the Abuja Continental Hotel by 10:00 a.m on each days.
House of Representatives aspirants would also be screened on same days at the Treasures Suites & Conferences, Abuja, at the same time.
Mr Felix Morka, the party’s National Publicity Secretary in a statement, advised all aspirants to attend the screening punctually and with all required documents and credentials.
