The Forum of Social Democratic Party (SDP) State Chairmen has congratulated the party’s national chairman, Prof. Abubakar Gombe, on his confirmation by the National Executive Council (NEC) to lead the party.
In a statement signed by the forum’s secretary, Idris Adamu on Thursday, the chairmen, led by Hon. Olaniyi Ferrari, commended Gombe’s broad support within the party.
He praised the resilience and dedication of the national working committees in elevating the SDP to its current status.
The forum also expressed appreciation to all party leaders and stakeholders, including the party’s former presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, for their moral and financial support, describing their contributions as “invaluable” in shaping the party’s progress.
Additionally, the chairmen congratulated newly confirmed state chairmen and prayed for wisdom to guide them in leading the party effectively in their respective states.
The forum further welcomed its newly inaugurated executive members, with Ferrari as Chairman of Chairmen, Abba Modu as Deputy Chairman for the Northern Region, and Hon. Okunlade Michael as Deputy for the Southern Region.
Mr Adamu Idris was appointed Secretary, Mr Idoko Itodo as Assistant Secretary, and Mr Kingsley Agbo as Treasurer.
Mr Allen Amadien was named Publicity Secretary, Barr. Yerima Yakubu as Legal Adviser, and Mr Willington Odiong serves as Ex officio.
The statement urged all party members nationwide to continue mobilisation and sensitisation activities, highlighting that the SDP remains a stable and united political party committed to a credible manifesto capable of fostering national progress and transformation. (NAN)
