The South-East chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says the successful conduct of its House of Representatives primaries has boosted the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections in the zone.
The APC National Vice-Chairman (South-East), Ijeomah Arodiogbu, stated this in a statement issued on Monday.
Arodiogbu applauded the peaceful and successful conduct of the primaries across the five states of the South-East.
He described the exercise as a reflection of growing unity, transparency and internal democracy within the party.
He said the primaries witnessed massive participation by party members and were conducted in an orderly and transparent manner.
The APC chieftain particularly commended Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State and leader of the party in the South-East, for his support and leadership during the exercise.
According to him, Uzodimma’s guidance and commitment ensured that the primaries were transparent, credible and hitch-free.
“Gov. Uzodimma’s dedication to the party’s success in the South-East has been exemplary.
“His support provided the necessary framework for a smooth and credible primary process,” he said.
Arodiogbu also commended elected officials and party members across the zone for their conduct and active participation in the exercise.
He noted that the turnout demonstrated renewed confidence in the party’s leadership and vision for the region.
He congratulated winners of the primaries and urged them to remain humble in victory while working towards ensuring the party’s success in the 2027 general elections.
The APC vice-chairman further assured party faithful that the forthcoming senatorial and governorship primaries would also be conducted seamlessly.
He called on members to remain united and committed as the party intensifies preparations ahead of the 2027 polls.
Arodiogbu said reports from the party’s electoral committee and election monitors appointed by the National Working Committee indicated that several aspirants emerged winners in constituencies across the south-east states.(NAN)
