The Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) says governors now embark on more developmental projects because the Federal Government’s economic reforms have resulted in increased allocations to them.
The RHA, a public enlightenment platform driving President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, stated this at a media stakeholders forum on Monday in Abuja.
The group said while the president had sometimes been criticised for his bold economic reforms, sub-national governments remained the major beneficiaries.
The RHA said it had resolved to embark on a tour of on-going and completed projects delivered in the current political dispensation.
According to the group, this is to prove that the president’s reforms are yielding results.
RHA’s Director of Communication, Mr Tunde Rahman, said the tour would not only showcase the Federal Government’s projects, but also those of governors.
“They say seeing is believing, so we want people to see for themselves what the president has done and what he is doing.
“The RHA is becoming the major wheel driving the president’s second term ambition.
” Thus, the tour is to let people see for themselves that developmental projects are going on everywhere in Nigeria.
“It is not only federal projects; more state projects are springing up because governors – whether of the ruling party or the opposition – are getting more FAAC allocations.
“Their ability to carry out more projects is directly as a result of the daring but necessary economic reforms carried out by President Tinubu,” he said.
Also speaking at the event, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, said the tour would start from the North-West Zone.
He said the Federal Government had been carrying out many life-changing projects across all the geopolitical zones.
In his remarks, Rabiu Ibrahim, the Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, said the ministry had been at the forefront of projecting government achievements.
He cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund as one of the landmark initiatives of the current administration.
Breaking down the achievements in the transportation sector, the Director of Railway Transport Services, Federal Ministry of Transportation, Mr Finbarr Zirra, said the huge funds being invested in the sector was justified.
Zirra also said work on the Kaduna-Kano and Kano-Maradi segments of the rail project jumped from roughly 15 per cent completion in mid-2023 to over 50 per cent by early 2026.
He further said the president had pushed for the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt-Maiduguri rail line covering 1,443kilometres.
Regional connectivity aimed at reconnecting the South-South, South-East and North-East zones were on-going, he added.
He, however, decried the activities of vandals who he said were sabotaging many projects.
Mr Nasir Mohammed, a representative of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, said Tinubu’s achievements in the health sector had been unprecedented.
He cited the achievements to include the Presidential Initiative for Unlocking the Health Care Value Chain (PVAC) created to reduce dependence on imported drugs by providing incentives for local pharmaceutical companies.
He said the president had also strengthened the regulatory framework to support the local production of vaccines and essential medical consumables.(NAN)
