The Founder of Tu2minis Global Services Ltd., Mrs Ngozi Enite-Okoro, has urged women entrepreneurs to prioritise product quality, regulatory compliance, and access to accurate information to enhance growth and support national development.

Enite-Okoro made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja.

She said that in an era where women are rewriting the narrative of entrepreneurship across Africa, quality and compliance are no longer optional but essential pillars for building sustainable and globally competitive businesses.

“At the heart of this transformation is a growing understanding of the power of regulatory frameworks and how they unlock opportunities for growth, credibility, and international reach,” she said.

Enite-Okoro said that during the maiden and second editions of the Women Entrepreneurship Workshop hosted by Tu2minis Global, a new wave of regulatory awareness was ignited among participants.

She said the outcomes were remarkable, with over 60 success stories, including trademarked brands, CAC-registered businesses, and NAFDAC-certified products.

“These achievements reflect a growing culture of compliance and mark a bold step towards building credible, scalable, and export-ready women-led enterprises,” she said.

According to her, such milestones are evidence of what informed women can achieve when they align their ambitions with regulatory structures that ensure visibility, longevity, and access to wider markets.

“For women entrepreneurs, compliance is more than ticking boxes. It builds consumer trust, enables market expansion, enhances financial leverage, protects intellectual property, and boosts credibility,” she said.

Enite-Okoro said trade opportunities like African Continental Free Trade Area and the UK’s evolving policy with Nigeria have opened new markets for well-positioned businesses.

“I have witnessed how access to the right information, guidance and tools can transform women into nation-builders,” she said.

She described regulatory compliance as a launchpad that enables women entrepreneurs to scale their businesses into African and UK markets, exporting proudly Nigerian and globally accepted products.

“Diversifying income streams, reducing dependence on local demand, and meeting international standards are all within reach if women adopt the right approach,” she added.

Enite-Okoro said that in today’s dynamic business environment, knowledge is not just power, but also leverage and profit.

“Staying informed about policies, market trends and regulatory updates is a non-negotiable asset. Entrepreneurs must make strategic decisions based on insights, not assumptions,” she said.

She urged women to collaborate with fellow entrepreneurs, policy shapers, and industry experts to exchange knowledge and strengthen their business influence.

“With knowledge as their compass and compliance as their engine, Nigerian women are poised to usher in a new era of resilient, respected, and globally recognised enterprises,” she said.

“The world is watching. It’s time for Nigerian women to rise, not just to run businesses, but to rule industries and contribute meaningfully to building the nation,” Enite-Okoro stressed. (NAN)

Former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mr Abubakar Yar’Adua, has advised secondary school students to remain focused on their chosen careers and uphold integrity in all their endeavours.

Yar’Adua, who is also one of the founding members of the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC), made the call at a public lecture held in his honour to mark his 76th birthday on Saturday in Abuja.

The event, titled “1st Engr. Abubakar Lawal Yar’Adua Public Lecture and 76th Birthday Celebration”, was organised by the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE), a division of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), FCT/Nasarawa Chapter.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the lecture had as its theme: “Artificial Intelligence as a Catalyst for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Productivity in the Digital Age”.

Yar’Adua encouraged students to take their studies seriously, ask questions when in doubt, and respect their teachers, noting that honesty and discipline remain essential to success.

“Don’t base your performance on the money you will get. Don’t be corrupt. Try and do your best, it will count for you,” he said.

He also expressed optimism about Nigeria’s development potential, urging leaders to prioritise national interest over personal gains.

“God has blessed Nigeria with everything it needs to develop to the highest standard. Our leaders must focus on progress, not their pockets,” he said.

The Chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Ibrahim Abba, a former Group Executive Director (GED), Corporate Services at NNPCL, said Yar’Adua was a visionary engineer who brought transformative changes during his tenure as GMD.

“Yar’Adua is honest and transparent. He is what you see, a fantastic engineer, a family man, and a dedicated community member from Katsina,” Abba said.

He noted that Yar’Adua spent most of his career in the refining sector before transitioning to the upstream segment towards the end of his service at NNPCL.

The guest speaker, Dr Makama Abdullahi of the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, spoke on the need for policy frameworks to regulate the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Nigeria’s education sector.

He noted that while AI offers numerous advantages in business and learning environments, unregulated use could lead to dependency and intellectual laziness among students.

“AI can now provide students with answers to questions that require critical thinking, and this could undermine their intellectual development.

“We are not saying AI is bad, it has more advantages than disadvantages, but we need to carefully consider how it is integrated into the education system,” he said.

Abdullahi emphasised the need for proactive discussions and regulatory policies to manage AI’s impact on productivity, innovation, and the future workforce. (NAN)

The late former President Muhammadu Buhari has left a legacy of discipline, integrity and patriotism, says Ali M. Ali, Managing Director the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Ali, who described the news of the death as shocking, said future generations would learn the art of patriotism and dedication to nationhood from Buhari.

NAN reports that Buhari died on Sunday after a protracted illness at a London clinic at the age of 82.

‘’Muhammadu Buhari will be remembered for his spartan and austere disposition, commitment to discipline, integrity, and the fight against corruption.

‘’His leadership of quiet strength with ordinary folks as the focal point. He left office with his integrity intact,’’ the NAN chief executive said.

Ali said that the testimonies from various associates and friends of the former president indicated a man that was highly cerebral, humble and with grassroots connections.

‘’From the testimonies given about him by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, former presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Olusegun Obasanjo and a host of foreign countries, showed that Buhari has touched people’s lives.

‘’I pray the Almighty Allah will grant him Aljannah Firdaus and the family he left behind the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss. I commiserate also with Nigerians, people of Katsina and Daura on this loss of a great and illustrious leader, son and democrat.’’

Buhari was twice elected Nigeria’s President in 2015 and 2019 and he also served as military head of state between January 1984 and August 1985.

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday as public holiday and the flying of the national flag at half-mast in all public places in honour of the late president.
