Mr Tunde Rahman, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Special Duties, says President Bola Tinubu deserves re-election based on his administration’s achievements.
Rahman made the assertion in Keffi, while addressing the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Presidential Media Team after a five-day inspection of government projects in Benue and Nasarawa states.
He recalled that the team inspected iconic road projects, healthcare interventions and bridges executed by both the Federal and state governments during the tour.
“We have seen iconic road projects, interventions in healthcare and bridges, both by the Federal Government and state governments.
“The projects were among the gains of the reforms introduced by President Tinubu.
“The initial difficulties associated with the reforms introduced by the administration had given way to benefits.
“When those reforms were initiated, people complained about the initial difficulties, but those difficulties soon gave way to benefits,” he said.
Rahman said the team’s findings contradicted opposition claims that the President had achieved little, urging Nigerians to judge the administration based on what they could see.
“Forget about the demonstrations by the opposition, who continue to claim that Mr President has not done anything.
“Seeing is believing. You have seen for yourself,” he said.
He said Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa and Gov. Hyacinth Alia of Benue had acknowledged that Federal Government reforms created more fiscal space for their states to execute projects.
Rahman urged Nigerians to consider Tinubu’s achievements when deciding their votes, saying the President had performed well and deserved another term to continue his work.
“Anybody that has done well deserves to come back again. Mr President has done well during this first term, and he deserves to be re-elected,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the team, led by Mr Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, set out on Aug. 5 for the projects tour in the two states.
A NAN Senior Editor on the tour reports that the reconstructed Abuja-Makurdi Highway emerged as a major intervention, improving traffic flow, road safety and connectivity along the strategic corridor linking the Federal Capital Territory with the South-East.
The highway is expected to boost the movement of people and goods while strengthening agricultural and commercial activities across communities along the route.
At Buruku, also in Benue, the ongoing Katsina-Ala River Bridge offers a lasting solution to dangerous river crossings, with residents expecting improved connectivity, safer transportation and expanded economic opportunities.
NAN also reports that the revival of the Taraku Mill, dormant for about four decades, represents another major intervention, with the N70 billion facility expected to process agricultural produce and create thousands of jobs.
The Otobi Water Works and Treatment Plant, alongside other revived infrastructure in Benue, highlights efforts to strengthen essential services and restore productive assets capable of supporting the state’s economic recovery.
In Nasarawa State, the N16 billion Shandam Road and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Interchange are expected to ease traffic, improve connectivity and stimulate commercial activities within Lafia and adjoining communities.
The Total Flyover in Keffi, constructed by the Federal Government, is also addressing a historically dangerous intersection where accidents claimed numerous lives.
The project is expected to improve safety and streamline traffic along the Abuja-Keffi corridor.
The Maraba Bridge, featuring a 2.6-kilometre elevated road and pedestrian bridges, is designed to tackle persistent congestion while reducing travel time and supporting economic activities along the corridor.
NAN also reports that Nasarawa’s lithium processing factories are emerging as significant investments in mineral value addition.
The projects are creating opportunities for employment, industrial development and increased economic activity within the state.
The Keffi-Nasarawa-Toto-Abaji Road and the dualisation of the Keffi-Karu-Abuja corridor further demonstrate Nasarawa’s infrastructure expansion.
The projects are improving regional connectivity and supporting commerce between the state and the Federal Capital Territory.
The inspected projects provide visible examples of ongoing infrastructure and economic interventions, while proponents say the reforms are creating greater opportunities for states and communities.
Rahman therefore maintained that Tinubu’s record in office justified another term, urging Nigerians to assess the administration’s performance through its projects and measurable achievements.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
