The Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has hailed the appointment of Prof. Chituru Orluwene as the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Port-Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH).
Wike gave the commendation in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Mr Lere Olayinka, in Abuja on Tuesday.
The Minister thanked President Bola Tinubu, for finding another Rivers indigene worthy of a federal appointment.
He said that Tinubu has consistently demonstrated his love for Rivers and its people saying, โwe will keep supporting him to continue with his good governanceโ.
Wike described Tinubuโs appointment of Orluwene as โputting another round peg in a round holeโ.
He urged the professor to use his wealth of experience to improve on the state of the Teaching Hospital, in line with TinubuโsโRenewed Hope Agendaโ.
He also thanked the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Pate, for recommending Orluwene for the appointment.
โI congratulate Prof Orluwene on this appointment and urge him to work collaboratively with all stakeholders in UPTH to ensure the continued delivery of quality healthcare services to Nigerians,โ the minister said. (NAN)
