The City Boy Movement has intensified grassroots mobilisation for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 by engaging Christian leaders in Bauchi and Gombe states.

The engagement was led by Belusochukwu Enwere, Head, Directorate of Christian Religious Affairs of the group and made available to newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the meeting brought together leaders of various Christian denominations, youths, women and representatives of Christian communities.

The meeting was aimed at strengthening relationship with Christian communities and creating awareness on the policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking during the engagement, Enwere emphasised the importance of involving religious leaders in grassroots mobilisation.

“Religious leaders have an important role to play in educating their followers about political process and encouraging them to participate actively in deciding the future of our country,” he said.

He urged Christian leaders to take the message of the administration’s programmes to their churches and communities.

He said that sustained grassroots engagement was necessary to build awareness and support ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Enwere also called for peaceful political participation.

“Our objective is to encourage responsible political participation and ensure that the mobilisation for 2027 elections is conducted peacefully.

“We must promote our message without violence, intimidation or anything capable of disrupting the peace of our communities,” he added.

The directorate encouraged participants to sensitise eligible voters on the importance of exercising democratic rights.

The organisers said political campaigns should focus on policies, programmes and issues affecting citizens.

They urged religious leaders to promote tolerance and peaceful coexistence in spite of political differences.

They said engaging Christian leaders, women and youths would provide opportunity to communicate administration’s agenda to more communities.

The initiative forms part of City Boy Movement’s broader strategy to mobilise support for Tinubu’s second term bid across regions.

NAN also reports that political parties and support groups have intensified consultations as activities gather momentum ahead of 2027 polls.

The directorate reiterated commitment to peaceful engagement, urging Christian communities to promote national unity and non-violent participation.(NAN)
