The Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), operated by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services, has overhauled its car park, reducing vehicle turnaround time and eliminating congestion hampering passenger experience.
The Chief Operating Officer at Bi-Courtney, Mr Remi Jibodu, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Lagos.
Jibodu said that before the recent tariff review at the multi-storey car park, MMA2 faced significant logistical bottlenecks, with traffic frequently spilling into drop-off zones and reaching the terminal entrance.
According to him, the congestion was contrary to Bi-Courtney’s core mission of excellence and global competitiveness.
“The turnaround time has reduced drastically and capacity utilisation per time has dropped.
“By streamlining the flow, the facility has been reclaimed for its original purpose: providing a seamless, stress-free experience for passengers.
“The original users are now driving in and out without the associated stress of traffic within the car park,” Jibodu said.
He also said that the milestone had further positioned the terminal for regional operations.
He said that with the recently approved settlement agreement brokered by the Federal Executive Council between the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Bi-Courtney, passenger satisfaction would be prioritised.
Jibodu said that the recent settlement with FAAN had opened a new chapter for MMA2, placing higher responsibilities on the terminal to expand its footprint.
According to him, the operator will leverage the FEC approval to fulfill the vision of becoming a dominant airport operator in the African aviation industry.
“This settlement has propelled our vision in the coming weeks and months; we will see a lot,” he said.
On global competitiveness, Jibodu said the quest for operational excellence at MMA2 was fueled by a desire to sustain its leadership in Nigerian airport management while aligning with global development standards.
He added that its commitment to innovation birthed several passenger-centric products that had kept the MMA2 brand as a first-choice destination in Lagos.
Jibodu also said that airlines at the terminal had continued to operate amid the Jet A1 (aviation fuel) supply challenge. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
