Bishop David Abioye, Founder of Living Word Conquerors Global Assembly, has urged Christians to cultivate a consistent and fervent prayer life to overcome life’s challenges.
Abioye made this known while speaking as a guest minister at a Solemn Assembly Prayer Conference on Thursday in Abuja.
The event was jointly organised by the Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) block, FCT Chapter.
In his paper entitled, “Prevailing Through Prayers”, Abioye described persistent prayer as essential for triumphing over oppositions confronting individuals, families, churches, and the nation.
”Prayer is a platform for prevailing in life. There are travails of life that can only be handled on the altar of prayer.
”If you don’t know how to pray, you’ll never know how to prevail,” he said.
Drawing from the Scriptures, Abioye cautioned against spiritual lukewarmness, noting that prayerlessness leads to spiritual exhaustion and failure.
”Philippians 4:6 says in everything pray. Prayer is not optional, prayer is a must; a prayerless believer is a lifeless believer.
The cleric stated that a prayerful life protects believers against three major pitfalls: fainting, failing, and falling.
”What breathing is to the human body is what prayer is to spiritual life.
He urged Church leaders to prioritise genuine divine power over human eloquence, performance, or intellectualism.
He challenged Church leaders to safeguard their calling against commercialisation, reminding them that spiritual authority was forged in purity and secret fellowship with God.
Also speaking, Pastor Matthew Akande, General Evangelist, CAC Medaiyese Region, Abuja, said prayer was an essential mechanism for spiritual battles.
Akande noted that while both sinners and saints were confronted daily by spiritual battles, Christians must remain steadfast and persistent in prayer until answers manifest.
He encouraged believers to return to the core spiritual foundations of earnest intercession and faith to reclaim their authority.
