2027: APC ‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‌chieftain urges unity, sacrifice for Tinubu’s victory in Osun

By Moromoke Akanji
An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Osun, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has urged party leaders and stakeholders supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election to shun personal interests and grudges for his victory in the 2027 general elections.

Oyintiloye, a former lawmaker, who made the call while speaking with newsmen on Sunday in Osogbo, said unity of purpose was necessary to secure victory for Tinubu in the state.

He called for harmony between the APC and Gov. Ademola Adeleke to deliver the promised 1.5 million votes for the president in the election.

“Following Adeleke’s appointment as coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Council in the state, all stakeholders in the coalition must set aside personal interests and work towards Tinubu’s victory.

“We have only one purpose, which is to deliver 1.5 million votes for the president in the state.

“All party leaders and stakeholders for the presidential election in the coalition must shun personal interests and grudges to ensure the president’s electoral victory.

“As the saying goes, any house divided against itself will fall, and we must avoid that as much as possible,” he said.

“All stakeholders should adopt the right approach to ensure the partnership works in Tinubu’s favour. We need to recognise and respect one another’s political relevance and contributions,” he said.

The APC chieftain said the parties involved must relate with mutual respect and operate as partners with complementary strengths.

Oyintiloye added that the parties must clearly define the strategies and approaches to be adopted to secure a convincing victory for Tinubu.

The former lawmaker advised the leadership of the alliance to develop a structured framework for grassroots mobilisation, from polling units and wards to local government areas and the state level, using a bottom-up approach.

He also called for the active involvement of women, youths, traditional institutions, religious leaders, market associations, artisans, farmers, community stakeholders and other informal groups.

According to him, the coalition involving the APC, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Accord Party led by the governor in the state, is not merely a convergence of political interests but a strong alliance aimed at securing victory for Tinubu in 2027.

“All hands must be on deck to achieve this landmark victory for Mr President. Personal ambitions, interests, grudges and claims of superiority must be set aside for the collective benefit,” he said.

Oyintiloye reiterated the need for the parties to embrace inclusiveness across political divides and work towards achieving their electoral target in the state.

He expressed confidence that Tinubu would secure the targeted votes in Osun through unity, mutual respect and open-mindedness.

The chieftain also urged stakeholders to support all APC candidates for the National and State Assemblies in the forthcoming elections, saying party members must work hard to deliver the desired results. (NAN) (NAN)
