A coalition under the aegis of the JAGABAN-JANDOR 2027 Movement has launched a stakeholder funding initiative to procure the 50 million naira All Progressives Congress(APC) governorship nomination form for Dr Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor) ahead of the party primaries in Lagos State.

The Central Coordinator of the movement, Mrs Funke Ijayekunle, announced the initiative at a news conference on Wednesday in Ikeja, Lagos.

Ijayekunle said the decision followed the release of the timetable and cost of the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms by the leadership of the APC.

She described the move as both a responsibility and an opportunity for stakeholders to demonstrate their commitment to the aspiration.

“We shall, as committed stakeholders, fund the procurement of the governorship nomination form for Dr Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran.

“Today, I formally announce the Stakeholders’ Funding Initiative of the JAGABAN-JANDOR 2027 Movement, a collective resolution of our members across all strata.

“This is driven by an unwavering conviction in the competence, character, and capacity of Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran JANDOR to lead Lagos State,” she said.

According to him, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. on Thursday and now, the group has seen responses from its structure and supporters across the state, mostly young Lagos residents.

Ijayekunle said the movement had thousands of members who had already pledged their resources to the initiative.

According to her, the move reflects a collective belief in Jandor’s leadership capacity and signals a people-driven political project.

Ijayekunle further emphasised that the initiative was strategic and symbolic, representing ownership and active participation by members.

She added: “This initiative is deliberate. It is strategic. More importantly, it is symbolic. It represents ownership. It reflects commitment.

“It affirms that our movement is not built on passive support, but on active investment in the future we seek.

“The decision to fund the procurement of the nomination form through contributions from members and supporters of the JAGABAN-JANDOR 2027 Movement is a clear demonstration that this aspiration is not an individual project, it is a people-driven mission.

“It is powered by grassroots and youthful energy, sustained by shared belief, and strengthened by collective sacrifice.”

She added that the fundraising effort would be guided by transparency and accountability, noting that every contribution would count as a stake in the collective vision.

The coordinator also said the movement had gone beyond fundraising to build a strong grassroots structure to ensure electoral success.

She disclosed that a 2,690-member campaign committee had been constituted across the 245 wards and 20 local government areas of the state.

Ijayekunle reiterated the group’s commitment to mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

“The JAGABAN-JANDOR 2027 Movement is structurally and operationally prepared to mobilise statewide support for the re-election of our President Bola Tinubu, for a second term in office.

“This structure is not symbolic, it is functional. It is designed to drive grassroots engagement, coordinate voter outreach, and ensure effective representation across the state.

“This is how movements translate into victories through organisation, participation, and sustained momentum,” she said.

Expressing confidence in the capacity of Adediran, the coordinator said that the movement would not only secure the party’s nomination for him but also achieve victory at the polls.

Also, speaking, Alhaja Khairat Ojikutu, the Secretary of the movement, said that Adediran had been tested and remained a sellable product residents would be proud of, if elected the next governor of the state.

Also, Mr Suleiman Adisa, the movement’s Youth Leader, who noted that the youth wing had embarked on mobilisation for the aspirant, said Adediran, as a young man, believed so much in the youth and had strong passion for them and women.

“We are gathering our strength behind him (Adediran) and the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.

“This project is our project, this movement is our movement. We want the youth to support this cause,” Adisa said.(NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
