Foundation begins congregational prayer, marriage counselling in Abuja

Nurul Yaqeen Islamic Foundation, an Islamic organisation, on Friday begun Jumma’at prayers at Kafe Districts, Abuja, with a view to promote the teachings and ideals of Islam in the FCT.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the two raka’at Jumma ‘at prayer which was led by the Sheikh Tajudeen Bello, Chairman of FCT League of Imams, was attended by thousands of Muslims within and outside the district.

The cleric while delivering his sermon, titled “The Significance of Mosque (Masjid)”, noted that mosques occupied a significant position in Islam which any Muslim could readily testify.

Bello, who stated that building mosques was one of the easiest ways of getting a house in paradise, urged Muslims to invest heavily on building mosques.

He also said that donating a mosque was an ongoing charity which continues even after a person dies and his or her book of deeds are closed.

“Even if you spend one Naira towards building a mosque, it will count as an ongoing charity.

“The messenger of Allah peace and blessings of Allah be upon him said when a man dies, his good deeds come to an end except three; on-going charity, beneficial knowledge and a righteous son who will pray for him.

“The prophet first of all chose to start with building a mosque as soon as he arrived Madinah, which is the mosque that is called presently Masjid Quba,” Bello said.

Earlier, director of the foundation, Imam Yahya Al-Yolawi, explained that the mosque would be fully develop into centre for promoting Islamic culture and traditional.

Al-Yolawi, who is also the Chief Imam of Area 10 Garki Jumma’at mosque, said the worship centre would also serve as a forum for pre- and post-married counselling.

He also stated that the mosque would initiate programmes to address the health needs of Muslim and none Muslim in the district.

The cleric used the occasion to appeal to wealthy Muslims to contribute to the development of the centre which would also serve as a leadership training institute for youth and women. (NAN)
