The Galaxy Backbone (GBB) Ltd. has reaffirmed its commitment to improving service delivery, strengthening customer relationships and expanding digital infrastructure to support Nigeria’s digital transformation.

The Managing Director, Galaxy Backbone, Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, gave the assurance at a breakfast engagement meeting with customers and partners to commemorate the 2026 Customer Service Week on Friday, in Abuja.

The event, with the theme: “Going the Extra Mile”, provided an opportunity for the organisation to engage customers, receive feedback and identify areas requiring improvements in service delivery.

Adeyanju said customers remained central to the organisation’s operations, adding that their expectations, feedback and trust had continued to shape its development over the past three years.

He said going the extra mile involved the commitment of engineers, operations teams and other employees to resolving challenges, maintaining reliable infrastructure and ensuring the availability and security of services.

According to him, GBB’s public sector customers rely on its critical digital infrastructure to support government services delivered to millions of Nigerians.

The managing director informed that the organisation recently secured a new data centre facility in Lagos to strengthen its capacity to support data sovereignty, build customer confidence and improve its sustainability and resilience.

He said that the development formed part of the organisation’s broader commitment to building the infrastructure and capabilities required to support Nigeria’s digital future.

He urged customers to continue providing feedbacks, adding that constructive criticism would help the organisation identify service gaps, make necessary corrections and improve its contribution to the country’s digital transformation.

Responding to customers’ concerns at the meeting, he said the organisation would address identified service delivery gaps and implement practical solutions to improve customer experience.

He cited the importance of timely communication and effective escalation of complaints, urging customers not to hesitate to report recurring service disruptions or other challenges.

Earlier, the Executive Director, Customer Centricity and Marketing, GBB, Mr Olusegun Olulade, represented by the Group Head of Human Resources, Mr Olugbenga Omoniyi, said that organisation would maintain its customer-centric disposition.

Olulade said technology, infrastructure and digital solutions could only deliver meaningful value when they addressed real challenges and helped customers and partner organisations to achieve their objectives.

He said GBB was continually developing digital solutions in connectivity, cloud services, data centre infrastructure, cybersecurity and capacity building to respond to changing customer needs.

According to him, platforms such as GovMail, One Government Cloud and the Government Service Portal are contributing to Nigeria’s digital sovereignty by strengthening government institutions’ capacity to manage digital assets and deliver services securely.

He expressed appreciation to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), businesses and private institutions that had continued to patronise the organisation, adding that their feedback had helped it identify areas for improvement and innovation.

Olulade acknowledged that the organisation’s services were not perfect but assured customers that it remained committed to continuous improvement.

He urged employees to demonstrate professionalism, empathy and accountability, stressing that every staff member had a role to play in delivering excellent customer experiences.

“Customer centricity is not just about saying that the customer is important; it is about making decisions every day that demonstrate that customers truly matter,” he said.

He said Galaxy Backbone would continue to listen to customers, learn from their experiences and improve its services to become a more responsive and trusted digital partner to the organisations it serves.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event brought together customers, partners, members of the management team and other stakeholders to celebrate customer relationships and discuss ways of strengthening GBB’s service delivery. (NAN)
