The Novelty Youth Development Association (NOYDA) has unveiled a Digital Literacy Lab Fund and honoured notable Nigerians, institutions and organisations for advancing community development, peace, security and youth empowerment.
The event, themed “Celebrating Service, Investing in the Future,” featured the NOYDA Excellence and Digital Empowerment Awards.
NOYDA Chairman, Mr Nartins Azege, said this on Sunday in Abuja.
According to him, the association remains committed to empowering the youth through voluntary service and impactful community initiatives.
He said the Digital Literacy Lab Fund would provide young people and residents with computers, digital literacy training and essential technology resources.
Azege thanked the Apo Legislative Quarters Zones A and B Residents’ Association for supporting the association’s community development efforts.
“Your support and partnership have encouraged us to do more for our community,” he said.
He also appreciated the award recipients for their commitment to community service.
“This recognition is a reminder that every positive contribution matters,” Azege said.
Chairman of the occasion, Sen. Osita Izunaso, represented by Mr Uche Nwosu, commended the association’s contributions to community development and youth empowerment.
According to him, NOYDA has carried out excellent work that has contributed to the development of the community and youths empowerment.
Former Senator representing Zamfara North Senatorial District, Sen. Lawal Shuaibu, urged young people to embrace entrepreneurship.
He stressed the need for youths to engage in entrepreneurship skills acquisition.
Also, a former House of Representatives member for Kware/Wamako Constituency, Sokoto State, Mr Usman Balkore, praised the association’s achievements.
He commended the efforts of everyone that has complemented the effort of NOYDA to ensure that we build a very strong, safe, secured and resilient estate.
The Divisional Police Officer, Apo Legislative Quarters, CSP Ali Johnson, represented by ASP Yusuf Filibus, lauded the association’s support for peace and order.
Filibus reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Police in ensuring the lives and properties of the people are protected.
NAN reports that NOYDA has undertaken estate sanitation, road safety projects, adult literacy initiatives, access control support and the first census of Apo Legislative Quarters Zones A and B. (NAN)
