Alhaji Umar Musa, the Uchu of Ninzo, of Ninzo Chiefdom in Sanga Local Government Area (LGA), Kaduna State, has appealed to Gov. Uba Sani to construct access roads in the area to boost economic activities.

The traditional ruler made the call at the Ninzo Annual Cultural Festival held in Fadan Ninzo Community of Sanga.

The event, with the theme “Harmony with Nature: Celebrating Indigenous Roots”, is organised annually by the Ninzo Community Development Association (NCDA) to celebrate the people of the Ninzo nation and their cultural heritage.

The traditional leader particularly appealed for the construction of a road to link the Fadan Ninzo Chiefdom with the Agamati Chiefdom in the LGA.

“Apart from the only road that links the chiefdom with Gwantu, the headquarters of Sanga LGA, the chiefdom is landlocked with no easy access roads to our neighbours in Fadan Ayu Chiefdom or to Wamba and Akwanga LGAs in Nasarawa State.

“We appeal to the government to construct the access road that will link the chiefdom with Wamba through the Abu Community.

“We want the government to link the chiefdom with Akwanga in Nasarawa State from Randa–Katarza–Akwanga,” he said.

Musa also called for the upgrading of the primary healthcare centre in Fadan Ninzo to a rural hospital to improve access to quality healthcare delivery.

He urged the establishment of a cottage industry in the chiefdom to provide employment for the teeming unemployed youths.

He also appealed for the upgrading of the Fadan Ninzo Chiefdom from second-class to first-class status.

Musa thanked the administration of Gov. Uba Sani for its efforts toward repositioning the state through developmental strides in health, security, and infrastructure, among others.

He assured the governor of his continuous support to enable him to discharge his duties diligently and achieve his administration’s mandate.

In his remarks, Gov. Uba Sani acknowledged the significance of festivals in preserving cultural heritage for future generations.

Represented by his Counsellor for Political Affairs, Ado Dogo, he urged indigenous groups to use the platform of their festivals to promote patriotism, foster peaceful coexistence and drive development.

He said that communities can actively participate in prioritising projects with the approval of N100 million allocation for all the 255 political wards in the 2026 budget.

According to him, the initiative is to promote inclusive governance where communities will decide how to utilise the funds based on their peculiar needs.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event also doubled as a fundraiser to establish the Ninzo Empowerment Centre.

Highlights of the event included the crowning of the winner of the Miss Ninzo competition, displays of the cultural heritage of the Ninzo people and musical performances.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
