A 32-year old man, Suleiman Atinshola, on Monday, appeared before the Ojo Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, over alleged illegal connection of electricity.
Atinshola, whose address was not given is being charged with conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, SP Simon Uche told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 23, at the Agric area of Ojo.
Uche said that Atinshola tapped electricity into his shop without lawful authorisation, saying that the act could cause a breach of public peace.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 168 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The court granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum, and adjourned the case until July 8, for mention.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
