The Coalition for National Security Advancement (CONSA), says recent operational gains by the Nigerian Armed Forces is a testament of improved leadership of the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Olufemi Oluyede.

The Executive Director of CONSA, Mr James Adama, said this on Thursday in Abuja, while briefing newsmen on the recent onslaught against terrorists in the North East.

Adama said the ongoing military offensives against terrorism, kidnapping and oil theft have recorded significant successes, including the neutralisation of more than 175 terrorists across various theatres of operation.

He said the renewed momentum in military operations reflected a more strategic, intelligence-driven approach to tackling insecurity.

He noted that enhanced collaboration among the Nigerian Army, Air Force and Navy had played a critical role in recent successes recorded nationwide.

According to him, troops have also eliminated several high-profile terrorist commanders, including Abu Bakr al-Mainuki, described by Nigerian and U.S. officials as a senior Islamic State figure, during a joint Nigeria-United States operation in the Lake Chad Basin.

He added that the operation demonstrated the growing effectiveness of intelligence sharing, international cooperation and precision strikes in degrading terrorist networks.

”The current leadership style of the Armed Forces under the Chief of Defence Staff has encouraged professionalism, discipline and synergy among the services.

”What we are witnessing today are measurable outcomes of a coordinated military structure,” he said.

The CONSA executive director also commended the Armed Forces for intensifying rescue operations, noting that sustained military pressure had led to the release of several kidnapped victims from terrorist enclaves and criminal hideouts.

He further lauded ongoing operations in the Niger Delta, where troops have dismantled illegal refining sites, disrupted crude oil theft networks and strengthened the protection of critical national assets.

While acknowledging that security challenges persisted in some parts of the country, Adama urged citizens to support security agencies with timely and credible intelligence.

He expressed optimism that sustained synergy, strategic leadership and public support would further enhance efforts to defeat terrorism, combat organised crime and secure Nigeria’s economic infrastructure.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
