The Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has donated 1,000 bags of 10kg rice to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) to support the feeding and rehabilitation of victims across its shelters nationwide.
The donation, presented at the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja on Saturday, is aimed at strengthening NAPTIP’s capacity to provide essential care and support services to vulnerable individuals, including women, children, and young people recovering from trafficking and violence.
NAPTIP operates shelters in 15 locations across the country where victims receive temporary accommodation, medical care, psychosocial support, and empowerment programmes designed to facilitate their recovery and reintegration into society.

Speaking on the donation, Director-General of NAPTIP, Hajiya Binta Adamu-Bello, expressed appreciation to the Aliko Dangote Foundation for its continued commitment to humanitarian causes.
She said that the support would significantly enhance the Agency’s ability to meet the nutritional needs of victims under its care, many of whom have been separated from their families and communities.
According to her, the intervention will not only help address immediate food needs but will also contribute to restoring dignity, improving emotional wellbeing, and strengthening the overall recovery process of beneficiaries in the shelters.
Representing the Foundation, Maryam Buhari-Shehu, Health and Nutrition Programme Officer, reiterated the organisation’s commitment to supporting vulnerable people.
She noted that the Foundation’s intervention was aimed at uplifting the morale of victims while reinforcing efforts to ensure their full recovery and reintegration into society.
She added that by partnering with institutions such as NAPTIP, the Aliko Dangote Foundation continues to demonstrate its dedication to improving lives, addressing immediate humanitarian needs, and promoting long-term societal wellbeing.(NAN)
